Degrees of University of Oxford

While speaking about the University of Oxford, one can do nothing but mention the degrees, which the University of Oxford provides. So, let us start with the degree of Bachelor. The degree of Bachelor, it is considered to be undergraduate degree and mainly is divided into two following degrees – Bachelor of Arts (B.A) and Bachelor of Fine Art (B.F.A). Such Bachelors degrees are awarded to the students after three of four years of the study. Only in 1978, the students have received the opportunity to receive B.F.A. Before this year, all the students were earning B.A. In addition to the above mentioned degrees, University of Oxford has stared to provide the students with the degrees of Bachelor of Technology (B.Th.) and Bachelor Education (B.E.).

History of the University of Oxford

Many people are speaking about the Oxford University, about its privileges and advantages, many people are dreaming to become students however only few people know the history of the university. Therefore, in this article I would like to tell you the story of such a famous educational institution.

Till the 12 century Oxford was already famous for being a center of education. People who were engaged with the educational process in Oxford are dated to deliver in 1096. Being expelled from the University of Paris in 1167 and settled in Oxford. That brought to the great reforms and changes in the education.

Now, University if Oxford is a collegiate university and it may be difficult to get used to it. This university is considered to be a federation. It has great number of independent colleges and halls. The central administration is headed by the Vice-Chancellor. However, the main person in the whole federation is the Chancellor, now Lord Pattern. Nevertheless, all the duties about the educational process, abut the research work and all the other main things in the university are laying n the Vice-Chancellor. He is the factual governor.

It is very prestige to be  a student of the Oxford University, that is why the enrolling conditions are very strict.
